Have you been flipping through magazines and watching home decorating shows for months looking for inspiration to bring your drab dining room into an inviting space for the 21st century? Follow these tips from the professionals and you’ll be entertaining happy crowds in your new dining room in no time.

If your dining room is within a site line of the kitchen, living room or foyer, you’ll want the new décor to complement those rooms to avoid a clash of styles.  The dining room table is the true anchor of the room. Check out the fabulous dining room table options at Groupon Coupons page for  Home Decorators.  If you generally entertain large crowds, consider a long bench on the outward facing side of the table. Benches are comfortable and can accommodate many. Another option is to consider large upholstered captain’s chairs for either end of the table. Make sure the upholstery is stain proof and the height of the chair is sufficient for dining.

Select a paint color that compliments the adjoining spaces. Changing the paint color in a room has the most dramatic impact with the least cost.  Don’t sweat too long with selecting the color. Trust your gut. It’s only a gallon of paint – not a life-long decision. If you’re really ambitious, select a color that is a shade lighter or darker for an accent wall.  This will have a great impact.  Window treatments can be as simple as white wood blinds.  Adding floor to ceiling window treatment panels will bring a richness and elegance to the room. These are simple to make and also available at most department stores. Select fabrics that have a calming tone.  The dining room is a relaxing inviting room and does not lend itself to loud, wild colors and prints.

Step up your game with new placemats or table cloths for a dressier look when setting the table. A large decorative vase can have a permanent home in the center of the table. Just invite your friends and family and you’re ready for a wonderful dinner party any day of the week.
